Our 8 step building process
Welcome to the start of your home building journey with Ownit Homes. We understand the true meaning of home and how important it is to get your dream project right, every time. We know that building a brand new home can sometimes be overwhelming, so we’re here to guide you through the process of building your dream home, in 8 easy steps:

Planning your dream sanctuary
Your Building Consultant will guide you through the process of choosing your design and finalising any modifications, as well as conducting an initial site visit.
When you are happy with the design, you will pay your initial deposit and sign your Planning Agreement. We will then order soil and contour tests to prepare the site specifications.

Getting started
Once we have all of this information, we provide you with working drawings and your contract for your approval and signature once everything is to your satisfaction.

Contracts and building approval
Upon receipt of your signed contract, we submit your plan drawings to our Council Certifiers for Building Approval, and your dream home is well on its way.

Colour selections in the Dream Studio
Whilst your plans are getting certified, our Colour Consultant will guide you through the process of selecting the colours and finishes for your new home in our Dream Studio.
During your appointment our experienced Consultant will help you make your selections and ensure your decision making is easy and fun.

Confirming your specifications
All of this information then comes together to form your Building Specifications document, which will be drawn up and signed. At this stage, your Building Approval is well on its way to being received from our Council Certifiers.

Construction begins
Once we have full finance approval, building approval and contracts signed, we will begin construction within 30 days!

Construction phase
Before the slab goes down, you will meet your dedicated Site Supervisor. Your Supervisor will provide you with regular updates during construction and be the primary contact responsible for ensuring your dreams are brought to life with perfect precision.

Completion and handover
Before you know it, you will be moving in to your new home! The final stages of construction involve meeting with an independent building inspector who will ensure you are satisfied with your home before handing over the keys.
