The Sharing with Friends community hub in Darra is now in its final stages of construction, with internal fit-off complete and external works well underway. We recently welcomed Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner, Councillor Sarah Hutton and the Sharing with Friends team to site to celebrate the progress of this meaningful community project ahead of its completion.

The new Sharing with Friends community hub in Darra is now entering its final stages, marking another exciting milestone in a project that will provide lasting support to people experiencing homelessness and hardship across South East Queensland.

With internal fit-off works now complete and the driveways recently being installed, the project is rapidly approaching completion. Seeing the building come together has been incredibly rewarding, as the vision for this purpose-built facility is now becoming a reality.

Recently, we were pleased to welcome Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner, Councillor Sarah Hutton and representatives from Sharing with Friends for a site visit to view the progress firsthand. The visit highlighted just how close the project is to being ready to hand over and celebrated the collaboration between Brisbane City Council, Sharing with Friends and everyone involved in bringing the project to life.

Once complete, the new facility will provide Sharing with Friends with a permanent, purpose-built home to support its growing operations. The hub will enable the charity to more efficiently receive, sort, store and distribute essential donated items, helping them continue their incredible work supporting individuals and families in need throughout the region.

At Ownit Homes, we believe the spaces we build can have a lasting impact beyond the structure itself. Being entrusted to deliver a project that will directly benefit the local community has been a privilege for our entire team, and we're proud to support an organisation making such a meaningful difference every day.

As we move into the final stages of construction, it's exciting to see the finishing touches being completed. From the completed internal fit-off to the external works now underway, every milestone brings the project one step closer to opening its doors and serving the community.

We'd like to thank Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner, Councillor Sarah Hutton and the Sharing with Friends team for visiting the site and recognising the progress made so far. We look forward to celebrating the completion of this important project and seeing the positive impact it will have for years to come.
