Ownit Homes launch innovative new Roof Terrace™

The team at Ownit Homes is thrilled to announce the launch of our new Roof Terrace™ feature. In a project-home builder first, this new design element is set to change the way ‘off-the-plan’ home designs have previously been offered to Queensland families.

Specifically developed for the Queensland climate and alfresco lifestyle, the Roof Terrace™ feature will provide an additional external entertaining area with third storey views, ranging in size from 22sq m. Ownit Homes co-managing director Brad Ganim said, to his knowledge the external living area had not been offered for homes of this scale previously, so the company was excited to pioneer the design in the Queensland project-home building space.

“We believe Queensland families shouldn’t need a multimillion-dollar budget or be confined to inner-city apartment living to take advantage of our tropical environment by enjoying rooftop living areas,” Mr Ganim said. “Backyards remain an integral component in the homes and lives of Queensland families.

“However, our Roof Terrace provides a solution for those who don’t want to sacrifice their outdoor green space for entertaining areas or those who don’t have much green space to begin with, a common challenge with the increasing amount of smaller block sizes.”

Mr Ganim said the functional and affordable design would help address the issue of shrinking lot sizes.
The Roof Terrace™ is available as a design add-on with optional open pergola. Access is via specialised external open riser stairs and the rooftop area has balustrading to match other external features, waterproofed flooring, and reinforced roof trusses to meet the structural regulations around building designs of this kind.

“Queensland living is about maximising cool breezes on hot summer nights and enjoying the outdoor lifestyle we are lucky to have. We believe the Roof Terrace provides great opportunities to do both,” Mr Ganim said.
